The rates paid by locum agencies to locums depends on the area where you are, the locum agency you choose and the relevant Trust/PCT.
Those agencies who have National Frame Work contracts tends to pay less for same amount and grade of work done. However, because they charge the hospitals a little lesser than their counterparts who are not part of the NHS National Frame Work Contract, the tend to have more jobs available.
The following rates are a general guide only.
SHO / FY2 Locum Rates: £30 to £38 per hour
ST1 to ST2 Locum Rates: £35.00 to £55.00 per hour
Middle Grades, sPR, ST3 to ST5 Locum Rates: £45.00 to £65.00 per hour .
Locum Consultant Rates: £50.00 to £125.00 per hour
Locum Nursing Rate: £15 to £30
GP Llocums Rates: for a full day at a GP practice ranged from £300 to £700; for a half day including visits, £140 to £450; for a two-hour surgery, £86 to £180. Hourly rates varie from £40 to £90. Demand for ocums appears to be slowing. Disorganised practices are likely to be charged more or find it difficult to get locums to return.
